Hi,all, I have just discovered this site, and I think it is excellent. The Stag is popular in NZ and there is a very good owners club. I have a 1972,mark one and a half,in Pimento red which has been a fairly major rebuild over the last few years, but it now looks and runs like new. Regards to all,Ash. |

Hi Ash - Welcome to the forum!
The forum is very quiet for some reason - We have people signing up and quite a few members but not many people seem to be posting. Your Stag is the same age as mine and same colour - Although I've got a Rover V8 in mine, I'm currently in the process of rebuilding and restoring myself.
How did you find site?

Hi Lewy,I hope your rebuilding and restoring yourself goes well - something many would like to do. I came across the site from (as I recall) a link on Stagwiki. Are you keeping your Stag stock, apart from Rover engine, - I have managed to keep mine as built apart from a Lumenition ignition. Ash |

I don't Know if I'll be keeping as stock yet - The previous owner had made some bad bodges, and it's had a bad respray job... it came off the production line as frenchblue. So I'm not even sure what colour to respray it when all the rust and bodywork is sorted out. Luckily it runs fine, although it needs a new petrol tank fitted as mine has rusted through. I have seen some nice chrome work done under the bonnet and since it has the rover engine it won't be too bad if I go away from stock under there anyway.
Work is going slow at the moment as I only have Saturdays to work on it, But that's one of the joys of doing it yourself
