Hi All!
I need to replace the rear trailing arm bushes.
i have managed to replace the rear subframe to bodywork bushes no problem.
is it possible to replace the trailing arm bushes without removing the whole rear suspension, as suggested in the Haynes manual?

your help would be appreciated.

with minimal tools and a single garage.

Hi All
I have been asked to explain how to replace the Rear Subframe Bushes.
really easy 1/2 Hour each side.

spray everything with something like WD40, leave to soak a while.

remove rear seat squab, this gives access to the head of the retaining bolt.

jack up car and support on axle stand, dont use the subframe, i used the trailing arm.

remove the bolt holding the retaining strap, (note position of the washers)the nut is located under the carpet on the rear floor next to the rear seat bulkhead.

remove the nut from the large bolt that goes through the Bush, the head is located through the access hole under the rear seat squab.
(note the location of the large washers and retaining strap.

remove the two small bolts that hold the bush to the subframe.

remove the old bush.

reassembly is the reverse of removal, use plenty of copper grease.

good luck.
